Save the Date! March 5, 2022
23rd Annual Discovery Ball

Due to COVID-related restrictions on large gatherings at the time, the California Science Center Foundation made the difficult decision to cancel our Spring 2021 benefit. We look forward to the highly anticipated return of our gala on Saturday, March 5, 2022 featuring a fascinating new exhibition set to make its world premiere at the California Science Center.

The Discovery Ball is California Science Center Foundation’s signature annual benefit event. The black-tie gala has been described as “a virtual who’s who of the Los Angeles business community” by the Los Angeles Business Journal. It consistently places in the top 5 annually in the benefits category of the Top 100 Events in Southern California by BizBash Magazine and recently won Special Events Magazine’s 2020 Gala Award for Best Fundraising Event.

Stay tuned for updates on the 23rd Annual Discovery Ball. For more information or to be added to the Discovery Ball mailing list, contact the Development Office at 213-744-7494 or galainfo@californiasciencecenter.org.

On March 7, 2020, 600 guests joined the California Science Center Foundation in celebration at the 22nd Annual Discovery Ball benefit featuring the Los Angeles premiere of The Art of the Brick, the world’s largest display of LEGO® art. With the leadership of our Discovery Ball Committee the gala raised $1.6 million in support of science learning for everyone!

We are thrilled to be featured in this BizBash article: How this Annual Gala Used Eclectic Décor to Keep Things Fresh with some great photos of highlights from the event.

Thank you to our generous supporters, proceeds from the Discovery Ball help sustain the hands-on exhibits, programs and operations that make the California Science Center a world-class educational resource and family destination.

A virtual who’s who of the Los Angeles business community.
