THE MUSES support and promote the California Science Center Foundation and its education programs for youth.
The annual California Science and Engineering Fair recognizes the achievements of 1,000 science scholars in grades 6 - 12 who win top honors at their county and regional science fairs to qualify for this statewide competition. THE MUSES contribute funding to help underwrite items such as the awards ceremonies and photography, and also volunteer time at this two-day event.
Community Youth Programs offer science enrichment opportunities: Young Curators , 7th – 8th grade students, and the Community Teen Program, ages 15-17. THE MUSES' financial investment and volunteer participation during field trips, interview workshops and family celebrations help strengthen the science literacy of deserving local youth.
THE MUSES fund scholarships which provide pre-K through 10th grade children from families with demonstrated financial need the opportunity to participate in the California Science Center’s weeklong summer day camps.
Woman of the Year Fundraiser
The annual Woman of the Year luncheon is the major fundraiser that allows THE MUSES to support youth education programs at the California Science Center. Each year this event honors a woman or women who have made outstanding contributions in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Learn more about this year's honoree and event.
